Abstract (English)

Oko provides a careful study of Eyre's creative process and presents the artist's work as an expression of existential ambiguity. Quoting Husserl, Adorno, Jung, and Freud, Campbell examines Eyre's recurring themes and devices (the mask, the shadow-self, the death event, etc.) to demonstrate how his paintings point to ontological conditions of human life. Biographical notes. 21 bibl. ref.
