Abstract (English)

Surveying the Philippine-born artist's political and artistic activity since the 1970s, Horne characterizes Maestro's work through notions of emptiness, repetition, place, and origin. The installation created during the artist's residence (an earth-filled room) is also analyzed. Japanese-Canadian writer Sakamoto's text is a story about man, woman, and child.
