Abstract (English)

This publication was made in conjunction with Pethick's curatorial project (a collaboration with his wife Margaret) consisting of an outdoor sculpture (a "Straw Tower" which was destroyed by fire) and a gallery installation composed of selected artworks and artifacts from the LRAHM's permanent collection. Both authors situate the project within the context of the artist's previous works, while considering topics such as: land use, farming practice, food production, monumentality, rural/urban experience, and cultural memory. Includes a list of the artifacts and artworks from the LRAHM's collection which were included in the installation. Biographical notes. 62 bibl. ref.
