Abstract (English)

Retrospective of photographs by the Toronto artist, with reproductions of six thematic series. Starting with a description of a 1981 installation, used as an esthetico-philosophical basis for the entire oeuvre, Hanna traces Garnet's artistic explorations, most notably his use of allegory. Dewdney highlights the artist's many abilities: his mastery of sculpture, writing and photography, and use of the body. Biographical notes. 13 bibl. ref.

Rétrospective des photos réalisées par l'artiste torontois dont on reproduit ici six séries thématiques. À partir de la description d'une installation de 1981 - qui sert de base esthético-philosophique à l'oeuvre entier -, Hanna retrace les explorations artistiques de Garnet et notamment son recours à l'allégorie.
