Abstract (English)

Maltais' essay on graffiti outlines various ways in which the craft of spraycan art functions as a language of the street. She also considers how "tags" and "throw-ups" are received within the public domain and commercial art galleries. E. Hill's prose poem presents the story of a graffiti reflecting on questions concerning time, identity and the significance of words. Includes glossary of graffiti terms. 61 bibl. ref.
