Abstract (English)Documenting the Russian film-maker's first important exhibition of drawings to be held in North American since 1932, this CD-ROM, with its carefully designed interface, reproduces all of the work exhibited, including approximately twenty photographs. Gagnon's text provides a detailed analysis of Eisenstein's drawing practice, primarily as it relates to his cinematographic oeuvre. Emphasis is placed on the following subjects: the body, caricature and anthropomorphism, eroticism, androgyny, humour and politics. Texts are also available in PDF format.
