Abstract (English)

Catalogue documenting two exhibitions by Magor: “Deep Woods” (1998-99) and “Stores” (2000). Tousley’s analysis of the artist’s multimedia works centres on the paradoxical relationship between objectivity and fiction. Issues of home, domesticity, consumer culture and sleep are also discussed. Hogg’s personal reading of Magor’s work combines brief fictional texts with news articles and artist’s statements. Shier’s essay on the artist’s work foregrounds the following subjects: the absence of the figure; relations between organic/inorganic; three-dimensional illusion; and readymade versus fabricated object. List of works. Bio-bibliography 5 p.
