Abstract (English)

Booklet documenting two site-specific installations, both of them beginning with the story (told on videotape) of Armenian painter Boutros, hired in the 1920s by the artist’s grandfather to decorate the family house in Kar’oun, Lebanon. Pakasaar analyses the first piece installed in the living and dining rooms of a 1950s suburban house in Windsor, Ontario. Emphasis is placed on the artist’s interpretation of cultural uprooting and intersecting. Seline describes the second piece in its museum setting at the National Gallery. Biographical notes.
