Abstract (English)

Catalogue for an exhibition where four writers were asked to write texts in response to photographs of their choice by nine artists. Art historian Donegan writes about historical photographs of Japanese immigrants produced by the Hayashi Studio of Vancouver Island. R. M. Vaughan writes on the theme of gay “brotherly love” through bathhouse images. Crosbie uses anonymous snapshots to shape her personal meditations while Dault uses a single photograph to explore the nature of “darkness.” Biographical notes on artists and authors.
