Dialogues in Public Art

Abstract (English)

In this book, Finkelpearl conducts interviews with 25 people, each of them being somehow involved with a public art project, as an artist, architect, participant or protestor. Finkelpearl’s introduction emphasises the public context of public art, situating it in both the transformations of the American city after the Second World War, and (as reflected in the projects discussed in the book) in the shift toward sharing power rather than imposing it in community development. Index, 8 p. Circa 200 bibl. ref.
