Abstract (English)

The inaugural exhibition for the Eric Arthur Gallery surveys the work of the man it’s named after, who was an architect and a professor at the University of Toronto. The curator’s text examines Arthur’s career as both architect and educator, assessing his contribution to and preservation of Canadian architecture. Includes a description of L. Jacob’s commissioned project, “Saving Face,” a documentary installation about “façadism” in Toronto architecture. Biographical notes.
