Abstract (English)

Abundantly illustrated, this book documents the development of the performance-installation “Sightlines,” a synthesis of painting and video with music composed by M. Oesterle. Long describes the installation at length and situates it in relation to Koop’s previous body of work, which questions both Renaissance and Modern paradigms, in order to foreground the way the artist both solicits and frustrates the viewer’s desire. Bio-bibliography 9p., with biographical notes on Oesterle and Merkel.
