Abstract (English)

This compact disc features three compositions by Steve Heimbecker inspired by life on the prairies. Using field recordings of birds, the environment, and farm machinery, Heimbecker has created acoustic maps of Saskatchewan. One piece was broadcast from a grain silo in Montreal (in the context of the "Silophone" project). Another features a spoken word piece that ruminates on the cycles of life.
