Abstract (English)

Fleming examines Wang's animated film, which interweaves personal history with the story of modern China. The artist's gradual disillusionment with the Communist Party's ideology, his participation in protests during the 1989 student democracy movement, and the use of drawing in the film are also discussed. 1 bibl. ref.
