Abstract (English)

"Janieta Eyre explores the world of childhood in a series of photographs inspired by Neil Gaiman's Coraline. Eyre's canvases are teeming with details: objects fall down, birds swarm around a girl posing in domestic spaces. The absence of any contact with the viewer demonstrates a degree of interiority or melancholy." -- page 2.

« Explorant le monde de l'enfance, Janieta Eyre propose une série de photographies inspirée du roman fantastique "Coraline" de Neil Gaiman. Il est question ici d'évoquer un monde surréel mais familier, lieu de tous les possibles. Les différentes scèns de Eyre fourmillent de détails: des oiseaux forment un essaim autour d'une petite fille qui pose dans des espaces domestiques. L'absence de tout contact avec le spectateur montre une certaine intériorité, voire de la mélancholie. » -- page 2.
