"Gordon Monahan creates sound installations, kinetic sculptures, and works for piano, loudspeakers, and other instruments, that span various genres from avant-garde concert music to sound and media art. As a sound artist and composer, he juxtaposes the quantitative and the qualitative aspects of natural acoustical phenomena with elements of media technology, environment, architecture, live performance, and popular culture" -- p.
