Abstract (English)

"In Spaces of Observation, Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens engage with the history of mathematics, statistics, industrialization, and the rise of econometrics, including the first attempts at plotting statistical data onto a Cartesian coordinate system, and the role of suicide in the statistical turn in sociology to explore the codes and conventions that organise both the literal and conceptual spaces in which observations are located." -- Artist's website.
