Abstract (English)

Krueger states that North Bay's relative isolation from the demands of the contemporary art scene allows artists to develop freely. McElroy traces the history of visual arts organizations in Northern Ontario. Annotated catalogue entries include artists' statements by some of the 19 participants. Biographical notes.
