Abstract (English)

"The Canadian Photography Institute at the National Gallery of Canada received, in 2016, an unprecedented gift of nineteenth-century photographs from an anonymous donor. This assembled group of objects, designated the Origins of Photography Collection, includes some 4000 daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes, along with many related contextual documents." -- p. 1.
