Abstract (English)

Tilroe examines the dichotomies in Richter's paintings between abstraction and figuration and between pictorial means and the subject. Buchloh, with reference to Habermas, questions the possibility of representing history, while analysing Richter's "October 18, 1977" series. Biographical notes. 7 bibl. ref.
