Abstract (English)

Wood explores the artists' use of feminist themes and "feminine" techniques to critique historical discourses. Examining definitions of Canada in relation to marginality, otherness, and the local, Scott looks at the position of women in the arts and examines the artists' work in relation to discourses of cross-cultures, feminism, bodies, and landscape. Artists' statements. Biographical notes. 41 bibl. ref.
