Abstract (English)

Ryan traces the evolution since the early 1980s of McMaster's humourous approach, culminating in the "Cowboy/Indian Show" (1990). McMaster outlines the genesis of this series, which deals with the clichés and prejudices that have characterized White/Amerindian relations; a commentary on each canvas is provided.
