Abstract (English)

Thériault elucidates the themes of identity, the body and its traces, and the individual in society as represented in the selected works. Lexier's work is treated in relation to personal attachments and socially recognized forms of bonding; Maestro's are viewed as advancing a non-oppositional treatment of issues of loss, exile, and cultural alienation. Biographical notes. 2 bibl. ref.
