Abstract (English)

As writer and friend of the artist, Gwyn's introduction provides an intimate biographical profile of Pratt. Moray examines the artist's use of pictorial, photographic, and commercial conventions, analysing the painter's use of religious iconography, traditionally-defined "feminine" symbols of domesticity, along with depictions of the female nude. Each of the 72 illustrated works (1969-1989) is accompanied by a brief explanatory statement by Pratt. Biographical notes. 34 bibl. ref.
