Abstract (English)

With reference to melancholy and "finition", Rehm perceives an attempt to resist closure and facile metaphor in works by Stephen Andrews, Regan Morris, and Robert Windrum which deal with AIDS and death. While examining the significance of the fragment, skin and surface, Thériault recognizes themes of borders and crossing thresholds.

Résumé

Faisant référence à la mélancolie et à la notion de "finition", Rehm perçoit une tentative de résistance aux limitations et aux métaphores faciles dans le travail de Stephen Andrews, Regan Morris et Robert Windrum qui traite du sida et de la mort. Considérant la signification du fragment et d'une "surface-peau", Thériault identifie les thèmes de la frontière et du passage.
