Abstract (English)

Fleming situates Soo-Ja Kim's work in the context of contemporary South Korean art. Her comments on Kim's installation, "A Laundry Field", focus on the artist's investigation with cloth and women's labour, while calling attention to the socio-cultural traditions which support gender discrimination in Korea.
