Abstract (English)

Radul's analysis of the installation "between departure and arrival" considers the concepts of "boundary" and "movement" in relation to ways in which Yoon's previous works address the role of photography in the formation of identity and memory. Kang calls attention to the performative strategies at play in Yoon's "Souvenirs of the Self" and "Screens", situating the artist's diasporic genealogy and "autobiographical staging of self" within the contexts of postcolonialism and multiculturalism. M.K. Gagnon's interview with the artist focuses on questions concerning national identity, Asian Canadian femininity, narratives of home/displacement, and interrelationships between race-body-nation.
