Abstract (English)

Catalogue of an exhibition that traces Vancouver's urban development from the late 1950s-60s by juxtaposing hundreds of photographs by five professional/amateur photographers from B.C. Both authors discuss the significance of the exhibition's style of display, suggesting that the emphasis on detail (created by the montage effect) highlights the differences and equivalences between the works. Issues of cultural history and personal/collective memory are also discussed. Includes list of works. Brief biographical notes. 8 bibl. ref.
