Abstract (English)

Looking at the work of women artists and the history of art, the authors trace the development of the feminine stereotype and its role in structuring the ideology of the discipline of art history. The separation of art and craft, its effect on the way that work by women is seen and valued, and the response of women artists are also analyzed. Circa 150 bibl. ref.
