Abstract (English)

T. Ryan of the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative evokes his personal recollections and friendship with Lukta, one of Cape Dorset’s original master artists whose sculptures (made from serpentine stone and caribou antlers) are documented in this exhibition catalogue. Reading’s introduction describes the artist’s career in sculpture and printmaking since 1959, highlighting major exhibitions and publications. List of collections and graphics by the artist.
