Abstract (English)

Catalogue of a retrospective exhibition presenting 69 ceramic pieces made by Levine between 1965-1995, within the categories of pottery, Pop, Funk and realist sculpture. Leach (in conjunction with Asian influences); the Regina “clay scene” of the 1960s; and the influence of Pop art, Funk art, Minimalism and Surrealism. Long’s essay considers the sense of time/timelessness within the artist’s work in relation to her treatment of everyday objects (including leather clothing, footwear, bags and suitcases).
