Abstract (English)

This video documentation of a performance/installation by Alward is introduced by a quotation on hospitality by Baudrillard. Framed by columns, a female figure (the artist) wearing neon and plexiglass wings is seated on a rotating stool, while video images of bears, a hand rubbing a foot in water and faces of women are projected on various screens in the background. The performer’s head and neck later reappear, smeared with red liquid, while she interacts with a male photographer, and comments on the piece to a woman taking notes, to the sounds of ambient gallery noises, conversations and whispered texts dealing with suffering, violence, God, Jesus and sexuality.
