Abstract (English)

Publication documenting the Sprawl exhibition and symposium co-curated by S. Fortin, R.W. Hill, D. Merritt and D. Sneppova. The exhibition presented works by seven Canadian artists concerned with a wide range of issues: the politics of location, community, identity, migration and memory. Includes essays by the six symposium participants; topics discussed include First Nations ceremony, differences between car travel and walking, artists' residencies at Hallwalls, post-industrial society, urban geography and suburban life.
