Abstract (English)

As a way of paying tribute to a senior Nova Scotia artist, as well as commemorating the 30th anniversary of the MSVU Gallery, this catalogue presents the work of Syverson, which is described by Jenkner as a non-dogmatic continuation of modernist painting. Jenkner also notes the influence of Newman on Syverson, and suggests the concept of matrix is an accurate descriptive term for the semiotic aspect of his paintings. List of works.
