Abstract (English)

Jeffries' introduction provides a brief historical account of Arden’s photographs from the 80s. Arden comments on his intentions and influences as a young artist. Culley compares Arden’s early work with that of the present, suggesting the modern form of the broken, fragmentary epic as a paradigm for encompassing the artist's literate realism. List of works. Biographical notes. 2 bibl. ref.
