Three authors contribute texts to this catalogue for a touring exhibition of Benner’s automobile sculptures: Reid provides a general overview and comments on the folk art aspects of Brenner’s work; Johnson interrogates the use of figures from Native history that inform the work; and Leighton provides a cultural history of the automobile as a context.
