Abstract (English)

Farrell argues that the materiality of the objects in Widgery’s exhibition not only creates an unsentimental evocation of childhood and its direct physical relationship with the world, but also gives signs of its cultural demise. For K. Maclear, the exhibition invokes the primordial childhood urge to reinvent the world. C. Widgery states she deliberately uses materials to address the playful beast suppressed within the adult.
