Abstract (English)

This catalogue for Dean's exhibition contains two essays and a transcript of the artist's video “The Floating Staircase (1978 – 1981).” The video transcript describes Dean's thoughts during the production and destruction of the "Staircase" sculpture. Mills' essay addresses the challenges that process-based works bring to curatorial practice. Rodney delineates the conflicting forces of monument/anti-monument in the "Ruins" piece. 4 bibl. ref.
