Abstract (English)

According to Wale, this exhibition introduces viewers to the variety of concepts and means used in portraiture. Watson provides a brief historical overview of the development of a practice she describes as important for understanding others. Telenko suggests that each work in the show tells a story, if only partial, about its subject. MacDonald and Karuna provide brief artist’s statements. List of works. 8 bibl. ref.
