Abstract (English)

"In the spring of 2000, Clarissa Schmidt Inglis returned to her native Hungary for the first time in almost thirty years. Though her hometown, Pécs, is now a growing industrial center, its cultural history extends to the Roman occupation two thousand years ago. [...] In snapshots of her recent trip to Pécs are taces of a cloistered childhood spent in convent schools and churches, surrounded by both the pageantry and proscriptions of Cathlicism. Like her journey home, Schimdt Inglis' recent work revisits formative influences and indeologies left behind." -- Judy Daley, page 5.
