Abstract (English)

Noting similar concerns underlying Canadian and Australian cultural productions, Berecry relates individual films by 20 Australian artists to six programme themes. Gibson traces the struggle to attach a particular history to the Australian landscape, while Martin addresses the gap between the activities of filmmakers and theorists. Includes film descriptions, biographical notes on all contributors and statements by some of the filmmakers. Circa 20 bibl. ref.
