Abstract (English)

Bismanis traces the historical roots of the recent return of figuration back to the practice of drawing in the 1970's. This influence is summed up by Nulf's drawings of this period which are linked to the surrealist practice of automatism, to procedural concerns typical of minimalism and to concern with light.
