Abstract (English)

Describing Chromazone's influence on the Toronto art scene of the beginning of the 1980s, Rhodes discusses five artists' figurative paintings in relation to their aim to depict reality. These artists' humanistic approach to their subject is identified as the emergence of a new sensibility in painting. Biographical notes.
