Abstract (English)

"In the great tradition of humanist photography of such masters as Diane Arbus, Mary Ellen Mark and Eugene Smith, here are two photo essays by Jean Lagacé. For some time I just stared and keenly observed the way he moved and reacted generally. Indeed he behaved fairly unaware of his immediate surroundings. Gradually, almost instinctively, I felt the need to photograph him and so, I approached him. “May I take your picture?” I asked. Introduction by Guy Lafontaine, Interview by Madeleine Marcil. Essays by Jean Lagacé and Jean Lauzon. Poetry by Milton Rogovin." -- Publisher's website.
