Wood's essay is broken into five "scenes" in a manner faithful to Gorlitz's staged tableaux. The discussion of theatricality is augmented by others concerning the formal dynamics of the installation, the iconography/ideology embodied in the work and the juxtaposition of sources (television, cinema;media spectacle).
