Abstract (English)

"The act of printmaking has made Brant Schuller acutely aware of the interaction of the printed image and the materials upon which they are printed; specifically how images superimposed on the built environment can reinforce or weaken their meaning. In Saint, Schuller explores the ways in which the printed word is used to symbolically fabricate meaning, subsequently being repeated and disseminated. He looks for points where a fusion of beliefs could intersect and become something new using pre-established imagery such as clip art or historically significant texts." -- Publisher's website
