Abstract (English)

"Annual exhibitions [...] establish standard of quality and reflect new ideas and trends. They give cohesion and meaning to what otherwise would be isolated artistic activity. The number of works submitted to this show was impressive, which speaks well for the visual arts in Halifax [...] the great variety of style and trend, and of approach and technique in contemporary painting [...]" -- page 3.
