Abstract (English)

Crimp and Rolston document ACT UP's attempts to inform the public about specific issues of the AIDS crisis through demonstrations and graphics. Stressing the collective efforts of ACT UP members, this document functions as a practical manual for other AIDS activists. Crimp refers to postmodernist techniques of appropriation and questions of identity, authorship and audience to contextualize the group's graphic production.
