Abstract (English)

Ahrens demonstrates how Klein uses enlargement, fragmentation, and the layering of images in her photographs to construct a visionary inner world between memory and reality. Referring to Plato, De Sade, and Nietzsche, Smolik discusses how Klein's images contrast desire, ecstasy and utopia with rationality, time and death. Biographical notes. 35 bibl. ref.
