Abstract (English)

McEvilley examines Gormley's preoccupation with the fate of humanity and surveys the sculptor's work since 1977 to demonstrate the predominance of the body. Gormley explains the fabrication of the 40,000 terra cotta figurines of "Field" while Orozco offers a reflection on the human condition inspired by his participation in the project.
